8.Publishing Content

8.1 Publishing Content

Perform the following procedures to set the created content to be downloaded and viewed on the application.

1 Click the  (Publish) button in the [Content List] screen.

The [Content Release Reservation Confimation /Confirmation of push message sending reservation] screen is displayed.

2 Set the period to have the content available for "Publish Period."

 Hint
・You cannot set a time in the past for "Publish Start Time."
・If you leave "Publish Start Time" blank, the content is released immediately.
・If you leave "Fin Open Time" blank, the content remains open indefinitely.
・Click the (Calendar) button to the right of the [Publish Period] entry box to open the calendar. You can enter a date by clicking the date you want to set.

3 To enter a message to be sent, select the [Send with additional message.] checkbox and enter the message.

Memo
・ If you enter a message to be sent and release the content, a push message will be sent to the SMART CATALOG application.

・ Select "Settings" - "Notifications" - "[Smart Catalog" to make the message displayed as a dialog. (for iOS)

4 Click [Publish].

The [Publish completed] screen is displayed.

Memo
The content released without specifying the release start time is displayed in New Contents on the application several minutes later. Time required for release differs depending on the size of the content.

 Hint
There is a little time difference until the publishing is applied to the application side after publishing completed. Either that updating manually on the application, or that it gets connected automatically to the server will apply the content to the application.

●Using an URI to display or download contents directly

Using "URI for Open Application" of a content, the application can be automatically started when the SMART CATALOG application is not running so that you can display or download a specific content.
This function is available on iOS and Android app.

1. Click the (Update Content) button in the [Content List] screen. Then the [Update Content] screen is displayed.
2. Select the strings at  "URI for Open Application", and "Copy" it. Copied URI is useful when it is used in a mail or on the calendar on iOS and Android devices that SMART CATALOG installed.

Memo

• When the content has not been downloaded, the message "Would you download?" is displayed.
  Then you tap "OK" , the content will be downloaded.
• When the content has been already downloaded, the content is automatically displayed.
• When the content is not in the "Open" status, the message "No suitable Content" is displayed. In this case, the content cannot be downloaded or displayed.
• When using iOS, the URI is different for the AppStore edition and the inHouse edition application.

Using an URL to display or download contents directly

Using "AppLink" of a content, the application can be automatically started when the SMART CATALOG application is not running so that you can display or download a specific content.

"AppLink" can be used with the  iOS/iPadOS app, Android app, and  Webviewer.  Customers using the iOS/iPadOS in-house app cannot use this function.

1. Click the (Update Content) button in the [Content List] screen. Then the [Update Content] screen is displayed.
2. Select the strings at  "AppLink", and "Copy" it. Copied URL is useful when it is used in a mail or on the calendar on iOS and Android devices that SMART CATALOG installed.

8.2 Making Content Unavailable

Perform the following procedures to set released content or content for which the available period has expired to unavailable.

1 Click the (Extension) button for the open content in the [Content List] screenandclick the (Close) button.

The confirm dialog box is displayed.

2 Click [OK].

The respective content will no longer be open.

8.3 Republishing Content

After authoring (editing) open content, publish it again. Until the content is republished, data before editing is delivered.

1 In the [Content List] screen, click the (Republish) button for the content to be published again.

2 Click [OK].

The content is republished with authoring (editing) information applied.

・Contents need to be republished if the contents have been changed like below:
- the change of the base PDF (Office) file
- the change of the thumbnail image
- editing contents by using authoring tool

About other changes such as changes of metadata, the newest information are distributed to devices immediately after they are changed, and the contents do not need to be republished. However, if the status of the contents are [open] and blinking or flowing from the right to the left, please republish them.
