5.1 Sorting of the Contents
You can sort the contents showed on [New Contents] or [My Library] by some designated orders.
1. From the operation menu, click “Sort” condition. The listed conditions are available for the sorting of the contents.
① | Title | To sort the contents by the title, click this. |
② | Published Date | To sort the contents by the published date, click this. |
③ | Download | To sort the contents by the downloaded date, click this. "Download" is available as the condition only on [My Library], not available on [New Contents] screen. |
④ | Ascending | To apply the ascending order, click this. |
⑤ | Descending | To apply the descending order, click this. |
2. Select the condition for the sorting, then the order changes accordingly.
3. You can apply 2 different sorting conditions between [New Contents] and [My Library]. The sorting order will sustain even you shut down and reboot the app.
5.2 Organize contents in Favorite
You can organize contents by folders if you use "Favorite". "Favorite" provides folders to store downloaded contents in it.
1.Create a Folder in [Favorite]
On the screen, click [Favorite], then Favorite window pops up. Then, Click "New" to create a folder.
Name the folder you are going to create. Then click "OK".
The folder is created, and it appears on the Favorite list. You can create up to 10 folders.
2.Add a Content to the Folder You Made
You can add up to 20 contents to each of the "Favorite" folder you made. There are 2 ways to add a content to "Favorite". The following is how to add it from the content viewer.
While viewing a content, make a right click on the screen, and call the operation menu. Then click "Add favorite". Favorite folder list appears.
Select a folder to add the content, Then the content is added to the folder.
The following is how to add a content to "Favorite" from [My Library] screen.
Make a right click at around the thumbnail of the content you want to add "Favorite". The background turns purple when it is selected. Then click "Add favorite". Favorite folder list appears.
Select a folder to add the content, Then the content is added to the folder.
And the screen moves to the "Favorite" folder you have just added the content.
To return to [My Library] screen, click [My Library] on the screen.
3. Confirming of the Contents Stored in Each "Favorite" Folder
You can confirm which folder has what content in it. Click "Favorite" on the screen, then the list of Favorite folder appears. Click the folder you want to confirm.
Then the screen shows the folder you selected from [Favorite] list. You can also sort the contents in a "Favorite" folder by "Genre", "Group" or other sorting conditions available on [New Contents] and [My Library].
4. Removing of a Content from the "Favorite" Folder
There are 2 ways to remove a content from "Favorite". The following is how to remove it from the content viewer.
While viewing a content, make a right click on the screen, and call the operation menu. Then click "Delete favorite".
Then a confirmation appears, and click "Yes".
Then the content is removed from the "Favorite" folder.
The following is how to remove it from [Favorite] screen. Make a right click at around the thumbnail of the content you want to delete from "Favorite". The background turns purple when it is selected. Then click "Delete favorite".
Then a confirmation appears, and click "Yes".
Then the content is removed from the "Favorite" folder.
5. Lock the Screen at a Certain "Favorite" Folder
You can lock the screen in the state of displaying a certain "Favorite" folder. Select a folder you want to view, then click on "Lock" button.
Then a confirmation appears, and click "Yes".
The screen which "Screen Lock" is activated looks as below. The key icon shows it is closed, and menu of [New Content], [My Library], [Favorite] are hidden.
To exit "Screen Lock" mode, click ”Lock” button. Then a screen asking your password appears. Enter your login password for Smart Catalog, then click "OK" button. Then you can return to the "Favorite" folder screen you have originally viewed.
6. Editing of the "Favorite" Folder
You can edit the "Favorite" folder you made. Click [Favorite] on the screen, then the list of "Favorite" folders appears. And then, click "Edit" button.
Select a folder you want to edit, then click either of following 3 buttons according to your need.
① | Change | To edit the folder name, click this. |
② | Delete | To delete the folder, click this. |
③ | Back | To return to the previous window, click this. |
When you click ”Delete” button, then a confirmation appears, and click "Yes". You can delete a "Favorite" folder even it has some contents in it. The contents removed from a certain "Favorite" folder still remain on [My Library] as the downloaded contents.
5.3 Bookmarking
You can bookmark on any pages of a content. Bookmarks you put on a content is shown as "Bookmark List", and it is useful when you want to open a certain page of the content afterwards.
1. Bookmarking on a Certain Page
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen at the page you want to make a bookmark, and call the operation menu. From the operation menu, select "Add a bookmark" button. Then, the page is bookmarked and listed on the "Bookmark List".
A page with a bookmark is shown with "Bookmarked" icon as below.
2. Open a Certain Page of the Content by Bookmark List
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen, and call the operation menu. From the operation menu, select "Bookmark list" button. Then the list of bookmarks on the content appears. Select one of them, and the page opens accordingly.
3. Removing of a Bookmark You Made
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen at the page you want to remove a bookmark, and call the operation menu. From the operation menu, select "Delete bookmark" button. Then the bookmark made on the page is removed.
5.4 Make Notes on a Page (Memo Function)
You can make notes on a page of a content, and they are saved so as to be reviewed or edited afterwards.
1. Making of a Note
Make a long tap at anywhere on the screen, then a Memo Pad appears. You can also call the Memo Pad by making a right click to call the operation menu, and select "Memo" button.
Make note on the pad, then save it.
Then a memo icon appears on the page. If you click the icon, the memo opens.
2. Editing of Notes You Made
Functions available for an existing memo are as listed below.
① | Edit | To modify or delete the note you made, click this. |
② | Cut | To move the position of the note you made, click this. Either of moving within the page or to a different page is available. If you click this, then content of the memo is saved on "Clip board". |
③ | Copy | To copy the note you made, click this. If you click this, then content of the memo is saved on "Clip board". |
④ | Close | To exit Editing mode, click this. |
⑤ | Paste |
If you use the function of ② or ③, then this button is enabled. Decide the page or position to paste the memo, then click this button. Confirmation message below appears. Click "Confirmation", and click at the position you want to paste the memo on the screen. |
⑥ | Clear the Clipboard | If you use the function of ② or ③, cut or copied data is stored on "Clipboard". If you want to clear the clipboard, click this. |
3. What if the number of pages of content increases or decreases?
If the editor increases or decreases the number of page of content and republishes it, the memo you have made on a certain page of the content remains at the same page counted from the top. In that case, use "Cut" and "Paste" functions to adjust the position. In addition, due to the decrease of pages, the memos created on the pages where the pages no longer exist will be lost.
4. What if you delete a content which has memo you have made on it?
If you delete a content which has memo you have made on it, then memo is also lost.
5.5 Content Search
You can search a content by some conditions. Downloaded content and undownloaded content require separate search. Performing a search on [New Content] screen for undownloaded contents, and on [My Library] for downloaded contents. Also, the following 2 searches require separate search;

1. Finding of Contents that Include Search Word
On [New Content] or [My Library] screen, click "Search" button to perform a content search.
Then, the search bar appears. Enter keyword or number for a search. A search is performed under exact match condition ,so a search performed with several keywords such as "AND Search" or "OR Search" are not available.

Single search is performed across all of the target items above. So on the result screen, you can find in which search target includes the entered keyword.
2.Finding of Pages of a Content that Include Search Word
As the result of searching 1. above, you have found 2 contents include "Brew" as the content body. Then the following is how to find the pages of content that includes the search word.
Click "Read" button to open the content.
Make a right click or tap anywhere on the screen to call the operation menu. From the operation menu, click "Search" button. Then the search bar appears, and enter the search word and click "Search" button. A search is performed under exact match condition ,so a search performed with several keywords such as "AND Search" or "OR Search" are not available.
Then a search is performed, and the result appears. Select one of the result, and the screen turns to the selected page. 3. Narrowing Down of Contents by "Genre" and "Group"
Every single content belongs to a "Genre". A user with Content Admin role creates "Genre" structure, and when an editor creates and publishes a content, specifying a "Genre" to the content is mandatory. By default, a content is automatically given a genre with "unspecified". So you can use "Genre" as a condition for narrowing down contents when you want to search a content. On the other hand, the editors publish contents to "Group". The contents that you can view on [New Contents] or [My Library] are that of being published to the "Group(s)" you belong to. So you can also use "Group" as a condition for narrowing down contents. Downloaded content and undownloaded content require separate narrowing down, means that of on [New Content] screen for undownloaded contents, and on [My Library] for downloaded contents.
Narrowing Down by "Genre"
<Condition>
An admin has published several contents by categorizing them by Genre as below.
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen, and call the operation menu. Click "Genre" button to start narrowing down by Genre.
Then, the display mode turns to "Genre Display", and the listed details appear.

It appears when there are some other Genre folders on the same layer, or on the next lower layer. |
② | Genre List | When ① above appears, there are some other Genre folders on the selected layer, and then this list appears when you click "Accordion Button". Click either of them to show the Genre folder. |
③ | (figure) | It means the number of content in the folder. If there is no lower layer than the selected folder, it means the number of content in the folder. If there are some lower layer folders, it means the total number of content in the selected folder and that of in all the lower layer folders that belong to the selected folder. |

Red badge and the number on it shows how many "unread" contents are in the selected folder and that of in all the lower layer folders that belong to the selected folder. |

Narrowing Down by "Group"
<Condition>
An admin has published several contents to designated groups as below.
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen, and call the operation menu. Click "Group" button to start narrowing down by Group.
Then, the display mode turns to "Group Display", and the listed details appear.

4. Finding of Contents that Include "My Data"
Make a right click, or tap anywhere on the screen, and call the operation menu. Click "My Data" button to find contents with "Bookmark", "Memo", or "History". This function works only for downloaded contents.
Then, the display mode turns to "My Data Display", and the listed details appear.
① | Bookmark | To narrow down contents with bookmarks, click this. |

③ | History | To narrow down contents that have been viewed, click this. |
Then, the result appears accordingly.
① | Condition | This shows the condition of narrowing down currently used. To switch the condition to narrow down, click "Accordion Button". "Bookmark", "Memo", or "History" are available as the conditions. |
② | Current Screen | This shows the screen which you are currently viewing. Click this to return to "My Library" screen. |
③ | Title of Content | It shows the title of content which is hit by the condition. |
④ | Detail |
It shows the detail of narrowing down result. Click on the thumbnail, then you can go to the listed page of content. For Memo; Page number, registered time of the memo, and content of the memo. For Bookmark; Page number, registered time of the bookmark, and the first few letters of the page. For History; Content name, the last time of viewing, and the last page of viewing. |
5.6 Printing
You can print the content using a printer connected to a Windows device that is using Smart Catalog. The print range is only the PDF on which the content is based. Various objects attached using the authoring tool are not within the print range.
1.Open the content and make a right click or tap anywhere on the screen to open the operation menu. Select the "Share" button from the operation menu.
2. Select “Print”.
If the content is not allowed to be printed by the content editor, “Printing this content is not allowed.“ appears.
3. The printing menu appears. Make detailed settings and print.
5.7 Sending Content by Email
You can use the email sending function of your Windows device to attach content (PDF format) to an email and send it. Only the PDF on which the content is based can be sent by email. Various objects attached using the authoring tool are not subject to sent by email.
1.Open the content and make a right click or tap anywhere on the screen to open the operation menu. Select the "Share" button from the operation menu.
2.Select “Send by E-mail.”If the content is not allowed to be sent by E-mail by the content editor, “Sending by e-mail is not allowed for this content.“ appears.
3.Select ”Mail”.
The "Send by e-mail function" of Smart Catalog launches the default mailer of the device using Smart Catalog. The following screen differs depending on the type of device you are using.
Applications that can use the sharing function of Windows are displayed as candidates. For details, please contact the email software company.
4.Specify "To", and click "Send".
The maximum size of PDF that can be attached to an email is 20MB. However, if the maximum size of the attachment is limited to 20MB or less by the mailer of your device, that size will be applied. The PDF size here refers to the one that has been converted as a distribution file. It may be larger than the size of the original PDF file that the content creator has uploaded to the content management system as a resource.
